planning a wedding

Planning a wedding is stressful. Amazing. Involves a lot of decisions. Fun. Hard and sometimes I just want to run away and get married so I dont have to plan anything, but really its been awesome and it has made me so excited to marry Jordan! I apologize for the lack of blog updates.. few things. like I said we've been planning a wedding. My computer lost EVERYTHING I had saved on it, including yes all my school assignments, pictures, etc. And well I figure people get sick of hearing the plans comming along. But a few exciting things have happened
First and most importantly I went thru the temple on Saturday the 16th and It was such an amazing experience. Not only did my testimony of the church grow, but my love for Jordan and I cant wait to be sealed to him for time and all eternity in there in 26 days ...but whos counting ;)
Other wedding plans are coming along. Got registered. Got a place to live (I think haha). Colors purple and Ivory. Figured out house colors (kitchen- red, familyroom - red and brown, bathroom- black white and green, bedroom- black, white, silver and blue) Everything has been comming along so well and i've been so blessed to have such great family and friends so willing to help. These next three weeks are going to be stressful with 3 essays, 4 finals, finishing the wedding, and all of Jordans finals. But we are so excited to get married and it will be a great way to celebrate the start of the summer :)

scorpions, good news, and dancing

Sunday nights at our house now consist of JUST DANCE. So much fun. Yes this is Jordan, beating my brother Rob and my BILs Matt and David. Sooo funny.

The other night my sister Staci was over helping re-do a bathroom at our house when we heard Parker (her 4 yr old) screaming at the front door.. long story short he got stung 8 times on the legs by a scorpion, poor guy. Well after that happened I was like Jordan lets go look for more, so we got the black light, a jar, and some pliers, and went around getting them off the walls. ( I bet you're excited for the reception now) haha anyways, we found a few and I gave Jordan the pleasure of watching them burn in gasoline in the middle of the street. It was awesome.

Now for the good news, terrible picture, but this is Nicole on the left, and Gabby on the right. I met them while in Honduras and fell in love with their family! Such sweet people. I met Gabby and 5 minutes later I was walking with her to her sisters baptism with friends down the street WITHOUT MY FAMILY AND NO ONE TO TRANSLATE! I almost peed my pants when she grabbed my arm and said come with us, and Tate said you'll be fine and went with my parents to go pick some other people up in the truck. Good thing she had been trying to learn English because if not I wouldnt have even had the little conversations we did. It was SO much fun though. Trying to figure out what she was saying, being introduced to a whole ward and them treating me as if I was no different even though I didnt know what they were saying. I became really close to Gabby and her family, we spent time at the baptism, so a few hours and the next night we went to their house for dinner and hung out. We sang songs to American Singers that they listened to even though they didnt know what they were saying, her mom made the best Balidas that we had while there! And just had a great time laughing and getting to know them! Gabby, her little sister, and her brothers were the only ones active in the church. She had a brother who was getting ready to serve a mission and her parents left the church after one of their children died. Spending this time with them was one of the most precious things that could have happened to me. I grew so close to them. Well the other day I realized Gabby got a Facebook! Thank goodness for that, and we found out that her parents are now active, and her dad is in the bishopbric and her brother is on a mission. I wanted to cry. The night that we left I remember so well that it was raining and they were walking us out to the car under umbrellas, we all hugged and kissed like 50 times because we didnt want to go. And her dad was just crying. I wanted to tell him that he would see his little girl again one day, and that his son was doing the right thing by getting ready to go on a mission, and that his family was so blessed from the church. But I couldnt.. remember I dont speak Spanish. So I left with my family. Well I guess he figured it out on his own, because they are all doing great now. Sweetest people and some of the best news I could hear! :)

This is us at the baptism. Dad is in the blue, Mom in the Pink LOVE THEM ALL!

He put a ring on it!

Details: (mostly so I dont forget!!)

The beginning: So.... me and Jordan got set up on a blind date (Thanks Maci) we went to Costa Vida for dinner, goofy golfing, and ate Ocean Blue by a fountain. Such a great guy. While we were at that fountain on our first date I threw a penny in the fountain and made a wish.."If things can work out with this guy then let them please because I already can tell he is amazing".. that was maybe 6-7 hours into our first date and I already felt like I knew him my whole life. There was defiantly a connection.

Popping the question: Soo... day after V-day we went out for dinner (Feb 15th) to Costa Vida which was delish. Then we went and sat by the fountain kinda just reminiscing about our first date there. Mind you I thought he was being all cute cause it was our valentines day celebration, but had no clue what was in store! So we were sitting by the fountain and he was kinda jittery when a car would go by and stuff but I was just like whatever. And then he said, well you wrote me a really nice letter yesterday so I wanted to write down some of the things I like about you.. and he pulled out some note cards. And I was like aww how cute cause thats not his typical self and I just thought he was trying to be all romantic since we were out for valentines day. So he handed them to me and I started going thru each one, and then the last one said, so... Will you marry me? I was in shock. I think I quit breathing. I held my hands over my mouth as I looked up to him holding a ring in his hand and my heart was racing trying to figure out if I was dreaming or if it was real. I was just like are you serious right now?!?! and so he got down on one knee and said "so Heidi will you marry me already because I love you more then anything and I want to spend my life with you" I was freaking out and replied with an "OF COURSE!" I put my hand out and he slipped that beautiful ring onto my finger. We hugged, and kissed and hugged and he spun me around and I cried a lil and all that jazz. I was SO surprised!!

At dinner I was thinking of how he would propose when he would do it, but was thinking it would be about a month off because he had told me 3 nights before he was still saving up for a ring (hes good at secrets) ((I was thinking, maybe he'll have us do what we did on our first date and do it like we met... Hello thats what we were doing and I didn't even connect it!! ..well I did but I just thought it was for valentines day)) and when we were at the fountain I was like we need to make a bucket list when we are engaged of all the things we want to do together and put come play in this fountain... not knowing I was going to be engaged in about 10 more minutes!! It was perfect. My ring is gorgeous and I was so proud he picked it out all by himself. Its so me and I love it! I am so excited to spend forever with my best friend. He makes me the happiest person on earth. I love every second I get to be with him.He has a great family and he is the most amazing person I know. I am so glad I met him!! I love you Jordan I cant wait to marry you!!!!!

This is the fountain we went to on our first date, the one he proposed at, and the one in the summer we will be coming to to play in ;)When I read this my heart stopped. I couldnt believe it really was happening! :) :) :)
This song reminds me of Jordan. Its called happy by Nevershoutnever. ;) Enjoy

You make me happy whether you know it or not
We should be happy, that's what I said from the start
I am so happy knowing you are the one
That I want for the rest of my days, for the rest of my days
Through all of my days

You're looking so cool, you're looking so fly
I can't deny that when I'm staring you down right dead in the eye
I wanna try to be the person you want
The person you need, it's hard to conceive
That somebody like you could be with someone like me

I'm happy knowing that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think, the more I wish
That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce
Uh, oh, oh

You're looking so fresh, it's catching my eye
Why oh, why did I not see this before
The girl I adore was right in front of me
And now I'll take a step back and look in your eye
And ask why it took so long to see we're meant to be

I'm happy knowing that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think, the more I wish
That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce

On the good, the bad, the ugly
The smiles, the laughs, the funny
Or all the things we put each other through
It's for you, for you, for you

You make me happy whether you know it or not
We should be happy, that's what I said from the start
I am so happy knowing you are the one
That I want for the rest of my days, for the rest of my days

I'm happy knowing that you are mine
The grass is greener on the other side
The more I think, the more I wish
That we could lay here for hours and just reminisce
Uh, oh, oh

A little bit of...

Ashlyn. Well Billi, I have called her that since we were tiny kids and so saying Ashlyn is quite weird to me. I love this girl so much. She is such an example to me. I dont know someone that can follow promptings of the spirit better then her. She is such an example in my life and im so blessed to have her as my best friend. She is always there for me. Shes my twinner! I love sharing my birthday with her. Love you Bill!Lots of the nieces and nephews! I love spoiling the kiddos, they are so fun to be around. This is my cute Mia girl, shes one of my lil princesses!
Best girl trip ever. And only. but my goodness I love my family. 23 of our cousions and aunts went to CALI for a girls trip two weekends ago and went to minute2wintit. It was so fun, this pic is with Jay, he is the one that keeps everyone entertained while they are setting up between stuff
And Guy Fierri. he is awesome. sorry this pic is so small
Missing Grandma Nancy! Im sad she moved so far away, but I know she is loving it there. I hope she comes back to visit soon cause I miss her!
Brittany. Need I say more... :) Love this girl (this is Jordans lil sister)
Guitar Hero, we are awesome
and last but defiantly not least. Jordan! I love hanging out with him :) so im glad I get to just about every day... :)

Other things:

I got switched to teaching the sunbeams and I love it! I have 5 precious little girls, this is going to be a blast.

Bam came home from his mission this week for some medical problems with his knee. I know he is having a hard time but everything will work out how its supposed to!

Clayton Esler is leaving on his mission. This means a lot to me. He was the last person I thought would ever get baptized and here he is going on a mission. What a blessing to his family. He will be a great missionary. His family is really special to me so I was so happy about this!

Roadshow is comming along.. its stressful to be in charge of but seeing it all come together now that its almost over is rewarding. The kids have worked so hard. Hopefully it goes great! I cant wait, 3 performances on Feb 4th and 5th and then its over. Bitter-sweet because its been fun working with the youth but glad to not have to worry about it.

all of these things make my life wonderful! I couldnt be happier then I am right now. I love my family, my friends, and am so thankful for this gospel. I am the most blessed girl in the world, I dont know why I get to be so spoiled with so many great things in my life but im thankful for each and every one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

New years day was a cold one this year. We went out to the desert with the Phelps fam as usual and it was a blast. Rode horses, golf carts, ate, laughed all that good stuff. New years eve was 28degrees at midnight(COLDER THEN NEW YORK!!!) my goodness.. I thought we lived in Mesa. It also snowed for about a minute this week at our house, crazy right. Who knew that was even possible here. Well anyways, the hot chocolate and fire came out during the day at the desert. We didn't even wait till dark. But despite the cold it was still a blast!!ABBY! Shes so cute :)
I love these girls so much. I've been able to watch them quite a bit since their new baby sister was born to let amy rest some more (except I dont think thats possible because shes taking care of baby Reese, so really I have the easier part haha) But I've loved every minute of it! They are so funny, and they know it! They say the cutest things and I love their big smiles.
This is my sister Staci. -Right? I thought the same thing... dang look at that model! She is SO pretty and I love her to death! Shes such a great mom, wife, sister, and friend. She is my example of how I want to be with my kids one day!
Here is her and her hubby. Aren't they adorable!? I love them! They don't even kick me out of their house when im there probably way too late at night and they wish they were sleeping :)

Goodwill treasure

I found this book shelf at Goodwill one day for 5 dollars and I couldn't help buying it. It was just calling to me to re-do it. And I was in a crafty mood so I couldn't resist. I forgot to take a before picture, but just imagine this but black with some nicks and scratches on it.. took care of those and gave it a nice cleaning and paint job turning it BROWN.First coat of the brown and let me tell ya it was already looking better. But I decided to dress it up some more and make it more fun. I got some cute scrapbook paper and modpodged' (Spelling?) it up. I wasn't IN LOVE with it but I was happy it at least looked better then when I bought it.

Our good friends were have a garage/bake/boutique sale to raise money for their daughter who just got cancer. Sweetest family ever, anyways I decided to donate it to that and help them raise some money. I have no clue if it sold for 1-5-10-or 20 dollars but I was just glad to help out.

I liked doing it though.. and now i'm going to look for more treasures at Goodwill.. just you wait. Some day ill get good at this stuff like my sister and my in-laws and ill have a house full of cute things!
